It Started with a Single Bean

In 2020, two friends with a shared obsession for great coffee decided to stop searching for the perfect cup — and start making it themselves. Armed with a second-hand roaster and a tiny garage, Ember was born.

What began as weekend roasting sessions for friends quickly grew into something bigger. Word spread. The garage got too small. A café followed, then another. But the philosophy never changed: source the best beans, roast them with intention, and serve them with care.

Today, Ember Roasters serves thousands of cups monthly, partners with farms across three continents, and remains fiercely independent. Every bag we sell, every drink we pour — it all traces back to that first batch in the garage.

2020

The Garage Era

First roasts on a 1kg sample roaster. Sold bags to friends and neighbors. Learned everything the hard way.

2021

First Pop-Up

Weekend markets and food festivals. Our cold brew became a local hit overnight.

2022

The First Café

42 Roast Street opened its doors. Fifteen seats, one espresso machine, and a dream.

2023

Direct Trade Begins

First origin trip to Ethiopia. Signed our first direct trade agreement with a cooperative in Yirgacheffe.

2025

Roastery Expansion

Moved to a dedicated roasting facility. Upgraded to a 15kg Probat. Started wholesale.
